Upcoming in Worship: Blessings to our newest baptized members of the body of Christ: Titus Matthew Jurek and Evelyn Jane Anderson.  November 5 All Saints Sunday and Hunting Orange Sunday!  Wear your orange for hunting season!  We will do a blessing and prayer for all the hunters and those out in the woods during hunting season.  You are invited to celebrate All Saint's Day by bringing a picture of a loved one who has died.  There will be a space in the sanctuary to display pictures together.  Pictures of beloved pets are also welcome.

October 31, 2016 is the 499 Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.  October 31, 1517 Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis to the church door in Wittenberg in hopes of reforming the Roman Catholic church.  Inadvertently he sparked a reformation movement that started the protestant movement branching off and away from the Roman Catholic church.  The year 2017 we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.

Long-time Member Wilbert "Will" Mackey died last week.  His funeral will be on Thursday November 3 in Fridley.  More details in his obituary (click here).

THANK YOU from the youth group to all those who helped out with the October 29th community service and Halloween themed scavenger hunt.  And to Thrivent for providing the funds.

Meatball Supper By the Numbers: 336 meal tickets sold.  $4499.25 income, $1233.75 expenses, for a total of $3265.50 profits.  15 youth servers.  1200 meatballs rolled.  17 gallons of gravy were made.  42 pies made.  

Save the date for Joey Krog's fundraiser dinner: December 3rd from 3-7pm.  The fundraiser is to help and support Joe in the purchase of his new handicap accessible van, an expensive necessity for Joe to get around.  Contact Jean Hendrickson or Joey Krog to help plan this event.

CHRISTMAS Play - Sign up YESTERDAY (last day to sign up!) at Salem Church to be part of this year's Christmas Play!  Questions: contact Donna Lekander  Dates for the Christmas Play will be December 17th at 3pm and during our worship time on December 18th at 9:30am.

Prayer Chain - Starting up via email with the option to also receive prayer requests other ways as well.  This is a great opportunity to share prayer requests with the Salem community and to pray for one another intentionally.  Requests can be submitted to Pr. Beth via email, phone, in person, or anonymously through leaving a note in Pr. Beth's mailbox.  Also, prayer requests can be shared anonymously or with names and details included.

This Thursday Lighthouse Hymn Sing:  Join Jean Hendrickson and women from her mother's church to sing along to hymns with the residents at the Lighthouse in Barnum.  Thursday October 26th at 1:30pm.

Annual Youth Community Service and Halloween Scavenger Hunt - October 29 (thanks for funding through a Thrivent grant).  Community Service starting at 8:00am and Scavenger Hunt starting at 1:30pm.  The youth will be serving the community by cleaning up along the trail and around the church property. ontact Donna Lekander or Pr. Beth Pottratz.  Community Service will be in the morning with the Scavenger Hunt in the afternoon.  Any youth from grades 7-12th are invited to participate!  Please sign up by letting Donna Lekander know you or your youth will participate so that we can have enough drivers and cars for everyone!
